PresBo and Congressional liberals don't care. With any luck at all, this blatant disregard for the American people will hurt them badly during the 2010 elections.

I wasn’t polled, but if I had been I would have been among the 56% who think the federal government is operating “out of line” with the U.S. Constitution. IMHO, that is the most serious problem we face today.
ReplyDeleteI believe that new laws should be fast-tracked for Constitutional challenges, just to keep Congress honest. Heck, I've advocated for years now that each bill should be reviewed by a Supreme Court panel PRIOR to passage... not to approve or strike it down, but to let lawmakers know whether the bill they're about to pass violates the Constitution.
ReplyDeleteI know, separation of powers comes up, as do other issues, but I'd like to see SOMETHING like this incorporated. I've seen too many instances where lawmakers passed a law KNOWING it was illegal, and counted on their ability to fend off legal challenges.
