The U.S. government does not have “effective control” of 1,081 miles of the 1,954-mile-long U.S.-Mexico border, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) responsible for securing the border.
Simply put, a border mile under “effective control” is a place on the border where the U.S. government can be reasonably expected to intercept an illegal crosser.
In other words, we have no effective border control in place at this time. If half of it is wide open, how are we supposed to stop terrorists and the like from entering? May I ask you that?
It's ridiculous.
But still, PresBo and his liberal allies are unwilling to take the obvious first step of increasing effective control of our border.

Have we ever had that degree of control over either border? Pancho Villa didn't think so when he ran Pershing ragged in the 1900's, nor do the various smugglers think so now.
ReplyDeleteThen there's the fact much the land along the border is reachable only by foot or horse. Hmm.. building roads, water and power lines etc so the Border Patrol can ride while pricey would hire lots of folks on both sides of the border so Anglo dishwashers in Phoenix don't have to compete with cheap labor. Now to find the money to hire the Patrol agents, contractors etc...
A cheaper alternative would be summary execution but that leads to folks saying nasty things and an electoral failure outside of enclaves in Idaho and maybe along Sand Mountain.
