Breaking: Roy Moore Running For President?

This announcement actually seems a bit pathetic to me, but Roy Moore has announced he is forming an Presidential exploratory committee.

Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore announced today that he was forming a presidential exploratory committee, telling an Iowa radio station that the country “is in a moral, economic and constitutional crisis.”

While I agree with his assessment of the country, I'm not certain if his candidacy will help things at all. He's tried twice to run for Governor of Alabama since he was ousted from his position as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, and lost badly in the primaries both times.

Does he REALLY think that a national campaign for President will have a different result?

As to the only other reason I can think of for running for President, to bring relevant issues to the table that would otherwise be ignored, I don't think Moore is necessary. You see, the fiscal issues will be brought up by others, such as Ron Paul. And other candidates have talked about bringing up social issues, as well.

So I'm not sure what Moore would bring to the table, you know?
