Today, the topic is earthquakes. Today is a "shake-out" drill, during which our federal government will "tell us how to act" if there's an earthquake.
See, that's a central tenet of Obama's world... he tells us what to do and we do it.

In an event called the “Great Central U.S. Shake Out,” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Education Secretary Arne Duncan are reaching out to areas in the Midwest that could be impacted by an earthquake along the New Madrid fault line.
According to the event’s website, more than 2.5 million people have committed to taking part in Thursday’s drill, in which participants will be told how to react in the event of an earthquake.
Participants are told to drop to the ground, take cover under something sturdy, such as a desk or a table, and hold on to it until the shaking stops.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against emergency preparedness, but there's something so sternly parental about the Obama administration's attitude towards the rest of us.
"Father Obama knows best, dear, now pay attention."
And what is the reason for this drill? In my opinion, it's a combination of the Japanese earthquakes and Obama's political need to look strong and effective. There's certainly no strong indication that the midwest is about to be wracked with earth-churning quakes... and no recent history of same.
Nearly 200 years ago, a series of earthquakes along the New Madrid fault line rippled throughout the U.S., causing a vast shadow of destruction and disrepair.
So pay attention children (and Obama DOES view us as children to be led), without a benevolent Obama you wouldn't know how to survive and would be condemned to a nasty and shaky death.
Thanks, Dad.
