Obama On Libya: Lies Or Incompetence?

Okay, we have a decision to make, here. Is Barack Hussein Obama a liar where Libya is concerned, or is he just plain incompetent when it comes to drafting a coherent foreign policy involving the use of force?

It's a relevant question, because Libya is turning into a quagmire and our involvement looks nothing like PresBO SWORE it would look.

PresBo said that we would be involved for days, not weeks. So far, it's been MONTHS, not days. He swore that regime change wasn't our goal... though he did incoherently argue that, despite his official position, Qadhaffi "had to go." He also swore that we wouldn't target Qadhaffi and try to kill him. Last night, NATO forces bombed a command bunker in an attempt to kill Qadhaffi. (No word yet on whether they were US planes or drones doing the bombing.) PresBo swore we wouldn't put "one boot on the ground." Now, according to a US general, we "may consider" sending ground troops into Libya.


Even his justification, his REASON why we intervened here, is making little sense. You see, there are other countries where the leaders are slaughtering civilians, and PresBo has yet to suggest that we intervene there. Syria, for example. Which raises the question as to why we REALLY started bombing the heck out of a sovereign nation... surely not just because PresBo doesn't like Qadhaffi and wants him out of power.

So far, this war is NOTHING like PresBo promised it would be, and things seem to be getting worse rather than better. So, did PresBo lie about all this, or is he merely incompetent?

Either way, we're in for a lot of trouble, both in Libya and at home, because neither alternative bodes well for us. If I had a choice, I'd rather that he be lying to us, because an incompetent President is something that can hurt far more than just us voters.
