This is interesting, and illustrates quite well why so many Americans believe PresBo to be a Muslim. You see, PresBo did not issue a proclamation honoring Easter this year.
This is notable. Former president Bush, on the other hand, always issued some kind of statement on this day of remembrance of our Savior's death and resurrection... he often mentioned Christianity and focused on the meaning of the day.
PresBo, on the other hand, treated Easter quite differently in 2010. That year, he did issue an Easter proclamation, but treated it as a generic holiday by mentioning and focusing on Islam. THIS year, PresBo issued no proclamation at all.
He DID, however, remember to issue statements on Ramadan and other major Islamic holidays... with no mention at all of Christianity. And he managed to issue a statement honoring Earth Day... obviously Islam and environmentalism are more important to him than his (supposedly?) Christian religion.
With behavior like this, so obviously and blatantly promoting Islamic faith and disparaging Christianity, is it any wonder that many people believe he is Muslim?
Conclusion: the man's an idiot.

From the linked article:
ReplyDelete"However, the First Family did attend an Easter Sunday worship service at a Baptist church and last week, the president hosted an Easter breakfast for Christian ministers. In that gathering, the president spoke openly about the Christian faith."
What's your point?
ReplyDeleteLook, PresBo causes half the problems he experiences. WHY do so many people believe he's a Muslim? The answer to that is because he seems to show more respect for Islam than for Christianity.
Sure, PresBo shows his religion when it is necessary, as does any good politician, but then he turns around and ignores his "faith" even more often. Attending a church is easy, as is giving (yet another) speech at a gathering. But his pro-Islamic proclamations appear regular as clockwork, while the pro-Christian proclamations cannot be found.
So I ask agaqin... your point is?
According to what I have read no President has ever issued a "proclamation" regarding Easter. As such it seems to me that any squabble over an unofficial statement would have to be over whether it was verbal or written. Irregardless, if this is the debate the Republicans/opposition wish to have, I can assure the WH welcomes it politically if not personally.
ReplyDeleteVarious news articles on this state that Bush did, but I haven't yet located the facts behind that assertion. I am looking.
ReplyDeleteAnd while you can't locate anything that Obama issued for Easter, you CAN for various Islamic holidays.

No, President Bush never did as has no other President. Just more faux outrage.
ReplyDeleteNever? Big word. What about 2006?

Sure looks like a Presidential statement on Easter to me...
